Enhancing our leadership team

After its ninth annual meeting on August 7, GHT has a new president, 2 new board members and an executive director – a stronger leadership team than ever.

Taking on the role of president, Tim Wright brings a love for active living in the Northwoods, an appreciation for the importance of families sharing in the fun, and a down-to-earth sensibility about organizations and their resources.

Neal Adams’ family has been a long-time part of the Conover community and his presence of the board will help us work with that town and Phelps to help operate, promote and enhance the Conover-Phelps Trail. With his wife Cheryl, Neal has modeled good trail care at the Conover end of the trail, and been great complements to Rollie Alger’s work at the Phelps end.

Amy Young brings her banking experience, her exuberance for biking, and her understanding of the Eagle River business community to the board. She and husband Adam have three children of college and high school age, and are co-owners of Forever Young Bike and Ski in Eagle River. Amy is also vice president of the Eagle River branch of Peoples State Bank.

After serving as president since 2010, Jeff Currie moves over to become the group’s executive director. He’ll oversee GHT’s day-to-day operations and have special responsibility for marketing and fundraising.
