Vilas County News-Review: River Trail Group Backs Multi-Use Crossing

The River Trail Commission gave a preliminary endorsement to a Highway 45 multi-use crossing and “placemaking” project that could be billed as the initial phase of the proposed River Trail between Eagle River and St. Germain at its meeting last Wednesday.

The crossing project, proposed by the Eagle River Revitalization Program (ERRP), would be funded by a Vibrant Spaces Grant through the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation, with matching funds from partner contributors, according to Karen Margelofsky, executive director of the ERRP, who presented the plan to the commission at Eagle River City Hall.

Update: At the November 12, 2024 city council meeting,  the Eagle River City Council approved allowing the Eagle River Revitalization Program to apply for the Vibrant Spaces grant on behalf of the city.
